Urban Outfitters shares a single ISA ID with Anthropologie on dropship, which is the setup detail vendors miss. Bulk wholesale runs on EDI over SPS Commerce with the Tradestone portal alongside it, dropship runs on Rithum-DSCO, and the URBN marketplace runs on Mirakl. AIMS360 runs all three from one stock record.

Urban Outfitters EDI requirements: one ISA, three programs

Urban Outfitters shares a single EDI connection with Anthropologie on dropship, which is the detail that catches vendors out on this account. Beyond that it runs the same three URBN programs on three different systems: bulk wholesale over SPS Commerce with the Tradestone portal alongside it, dropship on Rithum-DSCO, and a marketplace on Mirakl.

How do you sell to Urban Outfitters?

Three programs, three systems, three commercial deals, exactly as at Anthropologie:

1. Bulk wholesale. Urban Outfitters sends a purchase order and buys at wholesale cost. EDI runs over SPS Commerce, the network URBN has chosen, and the Tradestone portal is still required for country of origin, PO acceptance and customs descriptions.

2. Dropship. Urban Outfitters sells on their site, you ship to the consumer. Runs on Rithum-DSCO, with tracking posted within 24 hours of shipment. Uses the 846, 850, 856, 810 and 870.

3. Marketplace. Runs on Mirakl. You keep ownership, set your own retail price and pay a commission rather than being bought at wholesale cost.

The requirement detail is shared with the rest of URBN, so rather than repeat it here, the Anthropologie page carries the full URBN vendor standards: what Tradestone still does after EDI, the 48 hour ASN clock, why there is no 860, the 60 day compliance window, and the chargeback schedule. All of it applies to Urban Outfitters without change.

What does not carry across is the thing below.

The detail vendors miss

One ISA covers both Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie

A single ISA ID serves Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie dropship. AIMS360's standard maps route both divisions into one customer account rather than splitting them into two. Trading partner code on the program is URDS.

If you intend to trade with both banners, say so at project kickoff rather than after the first orders land in the wrong account.

This matters more for reporting than for compliance. If both banners post to one customer account, your sales by customer, your credit exposure, your commission splits and your channel margin all treat Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie as a single trading partner unless somebody plans for it deliberately. That is a fine outcome if you want URBN reported as one relationship. It is a problem if a buyer at one banner is growing while the other is flat and nobody can see it in the numbers.

Plan the account structure before go-live, not after. Unpicking two banners that have been posting to one account for a season means restating history, and the restatement lands in the middle of the reporting you were trying to fix.
The account

The brand growing fastest at URBN

In fiscal 2026, ended 31 January 2026, Urban Outfitters brand net sales were $1.35 billion out of $6.17 billion for URBN as a whole, from 253 stores at year end.

On comparable Retail segment net sales it grew 7.3%, ahead of Anthropologie at 5.9% and Free People at 4.8%. Of URBN's three apparel brands, Urban Outfitters is the one comping hardest.

That is worth knowing when you are weighing which URBN door to open first. Anthropologie is the bigger account at $2.59 billion, and its assortment runs wider into home, furniture and gifting. Urban Outfitters is smaller and younger in customer, and right now it is the one adding demand fastest. A vendor with product that suits both is arguably better served setting up for both at once, which is exactly where the shared ISA above stops being a footnote and starts being a planning decision.

URBN operates eight brands: Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, FP Movement, Anthropologie Weddings, Terrain, Menus & Venues and Nuuly. Vendor requirements are largely shared, so the setup work pays off more than once.
Bulk wholesale

EDI over SPS Commerce, with Tradestone alongside

URBN names SPS Commerce as its EDI partner. Vendors register, test and certify there, including getting UCC-128 carton labels approved during certification.

EDI does not replace Tradestone. Country of origin, purchase order acceptance and customs descriptions still go through the portal, and a purchase order must be accepted before its ship date or the transmission fails.

850 Purchase Order Inbound. Accept it in Tradestone before the ship date.
856 Advance Ship Notice Pre-pack formatted, within 48 hours of the requested ship date. Doubles as the packing list.
810 Invoice Line level detail must reconcile to the 850 and the 856.
GS1-128 / UCC-128 labels Approved by SPS Commerce during certification. A physical packing list copy goes on the first carton.
860 PO Change Not transmitted by URBN. Build for revisions arriving another way.
SPS is the retailer's choice, not a limit on your ERP. URBN picked SPS Commerce as the network its vendors connect and certify over, so testing and certification run through SPS whichever system you use. That is true of many retailers: the trading partner selects the network and every vendor arrives the same way. What differs between systems is who builds the documents that travel across it. AIMS360 writes and owns the maps and generates the X12 from your live order and inventory data, rather than handing you a subscription to someone else's translator.
Dropship

Rithum-DSCO, five documents, a 24 hour clock

URBN dropship runs on Rithum-DSCO, the platform formerly known as CommerceHub DSCO. Orders are confirmed there and tracking must be posted within 24 hours of actual shipment. Payment terms are Net 60.

Radial was the prior platform on this program, so setup guides and forum posts naming Radial are out of date for URBN, even though Radial still runs dropship for other retailers.

846

The document that creates your catalog

On this program the first 846 inventory advice creates your items on the platform. AIMS360 builds the SKU from style number, color code and size name joined by underscores and sends it with the variant UPC. Do not key items into the portal by hand.

850

A consumer order, not a bulk PO

Each 850 carries the shipping method for that order, which is why no default Ship Via is set on the customer record. Setting one overrides what the retailer asked for.

856 / 810

Ship notice and invoice

Both generated from the same order and shipment records, so the tracking the consumer sees and the price you bill both match what actually happened.

870

Line level cancellation

The 870 order status cancels lines you cannot fulfill. AIMS360 transmits a hard-coded DC6, cancel or sold out, whatever you select in the dropdown, because this program uses a status code set AIMS360 does not currently offer. Other reasons go through the vendor portal.

No 855 acknowledgment and no 860 change order on dropship, because a dropship order is a consumer purchase that either ships or gets cancelled. Freight is collect or third-party billed on the carrier account the trading partner provides, and the UPS or FedEx tracking number can replace the bill of lading number. A branded packing slip is not currently offered inside AIMS360 for this program and is printed from the retailer's vendor portal.

Marketplace

The URBN marketplace runs on Mirakl

Mirakl's own material names Urban Outfitters among the retailers running a Mirakl-powered marketplace. At URBN the storefront is branded Curated by Anthropologie.

A marketplace is a different deal from both wholesale and dropship. You keep ownership of the goods, you set the retail price, and the retailer takes a commission on the sale rather than buying at wholesale cost. Sellers apply rather than being bought by a buyer.

The reason it belongs on this page rather than being someone else's problem: all three programs draw units from one pool of stock, on three different cadences, and none of them reserves inventory on the others' behalf. See Mirakl marketplace integration for how the commercial model differs, and the Mirakl, Rithum and DSCO dropship guide for the wider platform picture.

What non-compliance costs

URBN's chargeback rules apply here too

Late delivery 2% per day, or 10% per week, after the cancel date. URBN may cancel the order instead.
Backorders $8.00 per unit on each backorder taken at Urban fulfillment centers.
Overall cap Where a chargeback exceeds 10% of the PO FOB cost, the total is capped at 10% of FOB.
Dispute window 90 days from issuance. Past that, URBN does not investigate.
Dropship delays Vendors may be charged back for shipping fees charged to the customer where the brand was not informed of a delay in advance.

The 90 day window is the one to build a process around, because a deduction not researched inside three months is simply margin you gave away. Chargeback management ties each deduction back to the order, shipment and invoice it came from, so a dispute goes out with the evidence attached rather than being reconstructed weeks later.

How AIMS360 runs it

Built-in EDI, one stock record, both banners

AIMS360 develops and owns its EDI engine, and it runs inside the consumer brands ERP rather than beside it. AIMS360 builds the X12 from your live order and inventory data, maps it to the retailer specification and processes the acknowledgment. Where a retailer names the network, as URBN does with SPS Commerce, AIMS360 works over it.

INVENTORY

One pool behind all three programs

The 846 publishes from the same stock record your bulk purchase orders draw on, so what you advertise on dropship and marketplace reflects real commitments rather than a separate optimistic feed.

BANNERS

Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie together

Because the two banners share an ISA, the account structure decision is made once, at kickoff, with your project manager. Get it right and both banners report cleanly from day one.

AUTOMATION

Orders in, labels out

Dropship automation takes the 850 through to a pick ticket and a label without anyone touching the order, and released pick tickets cross to ShipStation with the account code and purchase order attached.

ALLOCATION

Decide between channels on purpose

Allocation rules settle who gets the last size medium when a bulk purchase order, a dropship order and a marketplace listing all want it, rather than whoever picks first.

Urban Outfitters EDI FAQ

Questions brands ask about this account

Three ways, and they are separate programs. Bulk wholesale, where a buyer writes a purchase order and EDI runs over SPS Commerce with the Tradestone portal alongside it. Dropship, where Urban Outfitters sells on their site and you ship to the consumer, run on Rithum-DSCO. And the URBN marketplace, which runs on Mirakl and is branded Curated by Anthropologie. Being approved for one does not put you on the others.

On dropship, yes. A single ISA ID covers both, and AIMS360's standard maps route both divisions into one customer account rather than splitting them. Trading partner code is URDS. Tell your AIMS360 project manager at kickoff if you intend to trade with both banners, because the account structure decision affects your sales by customer, credit exposure and commission reporting, and it is far easier to plan than to unpick after a season.

Rithum-DSCO, formerly CommerceHub DSCO. URBN's vendor documentation directs dropship vendors to confirm orders there and post tracking within 24 hours of actual shipment. Radial was the prior platform on this program, so older setup guides naming Radial are out of date for URBN, though Radial still runs dropship for other retailers.

Yes, for the bulk wholesale program. URBN names SPS Commerce as its EDI partner and vendors register, test and certify there. Worth being clear about what that means: the retailer chose that network, so every vendor certifies over SPS regardless of which ERP or accounting system they run. It is not a requirement AIMS360 imposes and not one another system would let you skip. What AIMS360 provides is the layer above it, writing and owning the maps and generating the X12 from your live data.

No. EDI vendors still use Tradestone to enter country of origin, accept purchase orders and enter customs descriptions, and a purchase order must be accepted before its ship date or the transmission fails. Vendors budget for EDI expecting the portal work to disappear, and it does not.

In fiscal 2026, which ended 31 January 2026, Urban Outfitters brand net sales were $1.35 billion out of $6.17 billion for URBN as a whole, from 253 stores at year end. On comparable Retail segment net sales the brand grew 7.3%, ahead of Anthropologie at 5.9% and Free People at 4.8%, making it the fastest comping of URBN's three apparel brands.

Five: the 846 inventory advice, the 850 purchase order, the 856 advance ship notice, the 810 invoice and the 870 order status. There is no 855 and no 860, because a dropship order is a consumer purchase that either ships or gets cancelled. On bulk wholesale the set is the 850, 856 and 810, with UCC-128 carton labels approved by SPS during certification.

AIMS360 builds a unique SKU from the style number, the color code and the size name joined by underscores, for example 40526CJ_BLK_S, and sends it with the UPC assigned to that variant. Items are created on the platform by the first 846 transmission, so do not add products to the vendor portal by hand. A hand-keyed item will not carry the same SKU string and order matching breaks.

With the 870 order status, sent against specific line items. One honest constraint: AIMS360 sends a hard-coded status of DC6, cancel or sold out, regardless of which status code you pick in the dropdown, because this program uses a status code set AIMS360 does not currently offer. For a different cancellation reason, use the vendor portal for that order.

No. URBN does not transmit 860 purchase order change documents, so revisions arrive another way and a process built to wait for an 860 will miss them. This is a URBN-wide rule rather than a quirk of one banner.

Late delivery past the cancel date runs 2% per day, or 10% per week, and URBN may cancel instead. Backorders taken at Urban fulfillment centers are $8.00 per unit. Where a chargeback exceeds 10% of the PO FOB cost the total is capped at 10% of FOB. Disputes must be raised within 90 days of issuance, past which URBN does not investigate.

Yes, and on URBN you probably will, which is why allocation matters. All three draw units from the same stock, on three different cadences, and none of them reserves inventory on the others' behalf. If they live in different systems the availability you publish is optimistic by definition and the gap surfaces as cancellations. In AIMS360 all three read one inventory record, so what you publish is what you can actually ship.

Largely yes. Same vendor standards, same SPS certification, same Tradestone requirement, same chargeback schedule, same dropship platform and the same shared ISA. The practical differences are commercial rather than technical: a different buying organization, a different customer and a different assortment. If you are set up for one banner you are substantially set up for the other, which is the argument for planning both at the same time.
