Native Foot Locker EDI inside AIMS360: 850 orders filed by division for Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker and Champs Sports, the ASN built from the closed shipment, one 810 per PO, the 870, and UPCs exported as an 832 catalog file.

Foot Locker EDI Integration

Foot Locker wants the ASN within an hour of the truck leaving. AIMS360 builds it from the shipment you just closed

AIMS360 is a consumer brands ERP with Foot Locker EDI built in. One platform runs your inventory by style, color and size and produces every document Foot Locker asks for: 850 orders in, filed by division for Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports and Canada, GS1-128 carton labels, 856 ASNs built from the closed shipment, 810 invoices one per PO, the 870 order status, and the 860 and 820 coming back as readable reports. The connection is managed by our EDI team.

What system manages inventory and does EDI with Foot Locker? AIMS360. It runs your inventory and your Foot Locker EDI in one platform: native maps for the 850, 856, 810 and 870, the 860 and 820 received as readable reports, hourly checks for missing 997s, one Foot Locker trading partner with the division on each 850 filing the order to the Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports or Canadian account, the ASN built from the closed shipment so it can go before the truck leaves, one invoice per PO, GS1-128 carton labels from the same shipment record, and your UPCs exported as an 832 catalog file for the SPS Commerce catalog Foot Locker reads them from. Foot Locker's US manual names no EDI network for orders, ASNs and invoices, and our own EDI team runs the connection, so there is no separate EDI provider in the middle.

Foot Locker EDI Documents

Every document Foot Locker exchanges, and the catalog that comes first

Built from the same ERP records that run your inventory, warehouse and accounting, so the order, the cartons, the ASN and the invoice describe the same shipment.

Transaction What it does for Foot Locker
EDI 850 purchase order Foot Locker sends the order with a division number (03 Foot Locker, 16 Kids Foot Locker, 18 Champs Sports, 76 Foot Locker Canada, 77 Champs Sports Canada), its own 10 digit Foot Locker SKU next to your UPC, the ticket retail price, and a caselot size schedule where the order ships in caselots. AIMS360 reads the division on each incoming 850 and files the order to the account you set up for that division, validated against your catalog at the UPC level.
EDI 860 purchase order change Foot Locker lists the 860 among the documents it sends. It arrives in AIMS360 as a readable change report and your team updates the open order. Automatic 860 processing can be switched on per trading partner on request, and whether Foot Locker's 860 format qualifies is confirmed at setup.
EDI 816 store listing Foot Locker calls it the organizational relationship, its store address listing. AIMS360 holds every Foot Locker store as a ship-to on the account, so the 5 digit store numbers on orders resolve to real doors, and our EDI team confirms during onboarding how 816 updates reach that list.
EDI 856 ship notice (ASN) Required on every shipment. For DC shipments it is due within 1 hour after the shipment closes and leaves your building, and has to reach Foot Locker while the freight is still in transit. Sending it before pickup is fine. AIMS360 builds it from the closed shipment with the SSCC of every carton, so your team can generate and send it before the truck pulls away.
EDI 810 invoice Due by 8:00 PM Eastern the next day. One PO per invoice, one invoice number per ship-to, and no freight or restocking fees on it. AIMS360 produces it from the same shipment record as the ASN, so the quantities on both match.
EDI 870 order status Foot Locker lists the 870 among the documents it receives. AIMS360 generates it for a whole order or for specific line items, each with a status code and date, in whichever form your buyer asks for.
EDI 820 remittance Foot Locker sends payment and remittance detail on the 820. It arrives as a readable remittance report, and your team applies the payment and any deductions against the invoices in AIMS360.
EDI 997 acknowledgment Exchanged in both directions. Foot Locker returns a 997 for your ASN, and if a DC has no ASN on file it asks you for that 997 as proof the ASN was sent and received. On AIMS360's own EDI we check every hour for outbound documents with no 997 back, and contact you and the trading partner when one is missing.
GS1-128 carton label On the bottom right of the long side of the master carton, about 1 inch from the bottom and the edge, printed to ANSI grade A or B. AIMS360 prints it from the shipment record, the same record the ASN is built from.
EDI 832 UPC catalog Not a Foot Locker transaction, but it comes first. Foot Locker reads vendor UPCs from the SPS Commerce catalog and charges when more than 50 are missing at order entry or receipt. AIMS360 exports your UPCs as an 832 catalog file from the style master, with the NRF color and size codes a catalog upload fails without, and our EDI team confirms how it reaches the SPS catalog.

Vendor Requirements

What Foot Locker actually requires from a vendor

Foot Locker publishes its whole vendor manual on the open web. The US and Canada Vendor Standards Manual sits on footlocker-inc.com with no login, in 15 sections, most of them revised between April 2025 and September 2026, and it includes a chargeback schedule with dollar amounts. The rules below come from that manual unless a row says otherwise. Sections are revised at different times, so confirm the current version before you plan a shipment around a number.

Requirement What Foot Locker expects, as published
Vendor manual The Vendor Standards Manual on footlocker-inc.com covers purchase orders, ticketing, labeling, carton packing, routing, required documents, chargebacks, imports, direct to store, legal requirements and contacts, plus a French edition for Canada. It now carries a banner saying Foot Locker is part of DICK'S Sporting Goods. The Europe and Asia Pacific manuals are separate and dated 2022.
EDI Foot Locker says all its EDI transactions comply with VICS guidelines and publishes no X12 version. It sends the 816, 820, 850, 860 and 997 and receives the 810, 856, 870 and 997. The US manual names no network, and says a vendor using a third-party EDI provider is still responsible for that provider's errors.
UPC catalog Foot Locker subscribes to SPS Commerce to receive vendor UPCs, and vendors must give it access to their UPCs through that service. Every size and color needs its own UPC-A. More than 50 UPCs missing from the catalog at order entry or receipt costs $25 plus $5 per UPC (code 206).
ASN For DC shipments, within 1 hour after the shipment closes and leaves, and in Foot Locker's system while the freight is in transit. A missing, incorrect or late EDI ASN costs $7.50 per carton with a $500 minimum (codes 607 to 609, July 2026). If a missing ASN holds up unloading, detention runs $250 an hour from trailer arrival, capped at $7,500 or 5 percent of cost, whichever is less (code 705).
Invoice By 8:00 PM Eastern the next day on the 810. One PO per invoice, one invoice number per ship-to destination, no freight charges. A late invoice or one that fails edits costs $100 or 30 percent, whichever is less. No 810s until EDI testing is complete.
Routing Freight is routed in Foot Locker's Routing Tool, a web system, not by 753 and 754. The request needs three days' notice before the goods are available, and a request not forwarded 72 hours before shipping is $300 (code 908). Collect freight bills third party to Foot Locker. Prepaid deliveries book an appointment at least 48 hours ahead.
Late shipments Section 9, July 2026: 5 percent of PO cost for 0 to 7 days late, 10 percent for 8 to 14 days, 15 percent past 14 days (code 606). The October 2023 version started at 2 percent for 30 to 59 days late. The April 2025 routing section still quotes 1 percent a day up to 10 percent, so ask your buyer which applies.
Cartons 3 to 45 pounds. Length 12 to 30 inches, width 12 to 20, height 7 to 15, and height no more than length. Footwear goes one SKU and size per master carton, in 32 ECT corrugate or better, with the same quantity in every carton except the last.
Carton label GS1-128 on the bottom right of the long side, about 1 inch from the bottom and the edge, ANSI grade A or B, PO and SKU text at least 18 point, and any other SSCC barcode covered. A missing or unscannable label is $7.50 per carton plus $250 (codes 401 to 405).
Pallets and loading Truckloads and containers are floor loaded unless Foot Locker authorizes pallets; palletizing without approval is $250 per pallet (code 801). LTL is palletized and shrink wrapped. Load by PO, SKU and size. The Milton, Ontario building takes pallets up to 60 inches.
Ticketing Every unit is pre-ticketed. Formats include the U62 hang tag for apparel and accessories and the U42 sticker for bins and footwear, with the retail price taken from the 850. Print through an approved ticket supplier or on your own once Foot Locker approves the layout.
Distribution centers Divisions 03, 16 and 18 share the US service centers in Junction City, Kansas, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania and Sparks, Nevada, plus a Crowley location in Jacksonville, Florida. Canada ships to Milton, Ontario, where CEVA Logistics books the appointments.
Direct to store One ASN per carton with the 5 digit store number and the 13 digit SKU, due by 8:00 PM Eastern the day after the ship date, shipped FedEx or UPS the way Foot Locker's transportation team instructs. Not following that routing is $100 per carton.
Payment and disputes Terms are not published in the manual. Remittance comes on the 820. Foot Locker will not research inquiries about receipts more than 6 months old, so disputes need to move fast.
RFID No vendor RFID tagging requirement appears in the manual's ticketing, labeling, packing or chargeback sections. Foot Locker's supply chain chief told Supply Chain Dive in March 2025 that RFID was rolling out in its DCs and that a lot of vendor product already arrives tagged. Ask your buyer.
The Foot Locker rule that catches brands coming from department stores is the clock. On DC shipments the ASN has to go out within an hour of the truck leaving and be in Foot Locker's system before the freight arrives, and the invoice is due by 8 PM Eastern the next day. Compared with the October 2023 schedule, the July 2026 one charges $7.50 a carton with a $500 minimum for a missing or late ASN, up from $6.25 a carton or $250, whichever was greater, adds $250 an hour for unloading delays an ASN problem causes, and starts late shipment charges in the first week late instead of at 30 days. None of that leaves time to rekey a shipment into a portal. AIMS360 builds the ASN from the shipment you just closed and the invoice from the same record.

Foot Locker EDI Workflow

From the UPC catalog to paid invoice

One loop, one system, and on DC shipments two deadlines that start the moment the truck leaves.

Step What happens
1. UPCs in the catalog Before the first order, your UPCs go into the SPS Commerce catalog Foot Locker reads them from. AIMS360 exports them as an 832 file from the style master with the NRF color and size codes.
2. Order arrives The 850 becomes a sales order validated at the UPC level, filed to the Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports or Canadian account by the division number on the PO.
3. Acknowledge and update A 997 acknowledges the order, any 860 change arrives as a readable report for your team to apply to the open order, and the 870 status goes out where your buyer asks for it.
4. Routing request You request routing in Foot Locker's Routing Tool at least three days before the goods are ready, with the expected cartons and weight.
5. Pick and pack Your team packs footwear one SKU and size per carton within Foot Locker's carton limits, working from size level stock, and AIMS360 prints a GS1-128 label for every carton from the shipment record.
6. ASN The 856 is built from the closed shipment with the SSCC of every carton, so your team can send it before the truck leaves or within the hour Foot Locker allows.
7. Invoice The 810 goes out one per PO, one invoice number per ship-to, before 8 PM Eastern the next day.
8. Remittance The 820 comes back as a readable remittance report, and your team applies the payment and any deductions against the same invoices.

Native vs Bolted On

Do you need SPS Commerce or TrueCommerce for Foot Locker?

Not for the EDI. Foot Locker names no network for orders, ASNs and invoices. Your UPCs do need to be in the SPS Commerce catalog, because that is where Foot Locker reads them, and that listing is separate from how your documents move.

Native to the ERP

AIMS360

The order, the division, the cartons, the labels, the ASN and the invoice all live on one record, so the ASN can be generated the minute the shipment closes and the invoice matches it. The 832 catalog file comes from the same style master as the UPCs on your orders.

Our EDI team runs the connection, the testing and the maps, and checks every hour for documents Foot Locker has not acknowledged. Foot Locker's US manual names no network for orders, ASNs and invoices.

Bolted on

A separate EDI provider

Put an EDI network in front of an ERP with no native EDI and the ASN waits for someone to rekey the shipment in a portal. An hour is not much time for that on a busy shipping day.

And the manual is plain about it: a vendor using a third-party EDI provider is still responsible for that provider's errors.

Foot Locker Divisions

Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, Canada and WSS

Which banners share one trading partner, which ones do not, and the company behind them now.

Program 01

Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker and Champs Sports

The three US banners are divisions of one Foot Locker trading partner, not separate retailers: 03 Foot Locker, 16 Kids Foot Locker and 18 Champs Sports, with one manual, one EDI team, one Routing Tool and shared service centers. AIMS360 reads the division on each 850 and files the order to the account you activated for that banner.

Program 02

Foot Locker Canada and Champs Sports Canada

Divisions 76 and 77 run under the same manual, with a French edition, and ship to Milton, Ontario, with CEVA Logistics booking the appointments. Quebec French labeling rules took effect June 1, 2025, with merchandise compliance due June 1, 2027.

Program 03

Direct to store

Some orders go straight to a store by FedEx or UPS instead of through a DC: one ASN per carton, the 5 digit store number, the 13 digit Foot Locker SKU, and the PO in the carrier's reference field. The ASN is due by 8:00 PM Eastern the day after the ship date. If your buyer puts you on direct to store, we build and test that ASN separately.

Program 04

WSS and Foot Locker Europe

WSS belongs to the same group but trades as its own company, Eurostar, Inc., with its own vendor compliance guide effective July 6, 2026, its own DC in El Monte, California, and net 60 terms. It requires EDI with at least the 850. Foot Locker Europe is also separate, with its own 2022 manual and a supply chain portal for PO confirmation. Each is set up on its own, and our EDI team confirms the IDs before your first order.

One thing to keep straight: DICK'S Sporting Goods closed its acquisition of Foot Locker on September 8, 2025 and runs it as a business unit, led by DICK'S executive chairman Ed Stack, with Ann Freeman as president of Foot Locker North America, per DICK'S March 2026 annual report. Foot Locker had 2,478 stores across its banners on August 1, 2026, including 266 licensed stores, per DICK'S second quarter results. Retail Dive reports that back-to-school 2026 was the first season with DICK'S fully in charge of Foot Locker buying. Retired banners such as Footaction, Lady Foot Locker, Eastbay and CCS no longer place orders, so an old division list that still shows them is out of date. No open vendor drop ship program for footlocker.com appears in the manual or in any public source we found; the drop ship deals on record were with specific partners, such as a Nike pilot in 2021 and Fanatics for licensed fan gear in 2022, and Foot Locker Europe signed a four-year drop ship agreement with CommerceHub, now Rithum, in 2021.

One Stock Record

Size runs across three banners, one stock record

A Foot Locker program is size runs across three banners and two countries, packed one SKU and size to a carton and shipped against a late charge that starts in the first week late. The useful number is not what you have in total, it is what you can ship to each division by the start date without shorting the next PO.

Situation What AIMS360 does
One SKU and size per carton Inventory is kept by style, color and size, so a Foot Locker pick can be packed in full cartons of one size and the ASN lists what is in each one.
Caselot orders In AIMS360 a case pack is its own style holding inventory, and a prepack is a selling ratio of sizes. Case pack orders process differently, so we test a Foot Locker caselot 850 with you before go-live. See case packs and prepacks.
Three banners on one pool Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker and Champs Sports orders draw on the same stock record, so allocation runs across all three at the size level before anything ships.
The late charge clock The ship dates from the 850 stay on the order, so open Foot Locker orders can be worked by how close they are to late. Under the July 2026 schedule the charge is 5 percent of PO cost from the first day late.
A 3PL holding stock Integrated 3PL locations feed the same record, so the carton count on the ASN comes from the packed shipment and the ASN describes cartons that exist.
Selling the rest of athletic and footwear The same pool feeds Foot Locker, DICK'S Sporting Goods, Academy Sports, Scheels, DSW and Zappos without a separate inventory file per retailer. Each is its own trading partner with its own rules.

Managed Onboarding

We onboard you to Foot Locker, then keep you compliant

Our EDI team builds the connection and tests it with Foot Locker. You supply your Foot Locker vendor number, the divisions you sell, your Routing Tool access, and the buyer's PO instructions.

Stage What we do
Before kickoff Read the current manual sections with you, confirm which divisions you sell, and start the trading partner setup through the EDI contact in Section 14, as Foot Locker asks new trading partners to do.
Catalog Export your UPCs as an 832 file with NRF color and size codes, and confirm with you that they are in the SPS Commerce catalog before the first order.
Setup Build the Foot Locker trading partner with an account activated for each division you sell, the store ship-tos and the GS1-128 label template, and walk your team through Foot Locker's carton and ticketing rules.
Label proof Check the label placement, print grade and text size against the manual before the first shipment.
Testing Test the 850, 860, 856, 810, 870 and 997 end to end, including a caselot order if your buyer uses them. Foot Locker says not to send 810s until testing is complete, and to stop paper invoices once its EDI team confirms. Direct to store is tested separately.
Go live Watch the first PO through the Routing Tool, the pickup, the ASN inside the hour and the invoice before 8 PM the next day, watch for the 997s coming back, then read the first 820 with you.
After Track manual revisions. Foot Locker rewrote its chargeback section in July 2026 and its required documentation section in April 2026, and DICK'S now owns the business, so we check the manual with you before every season.

We keep emergency EDI support running around the clock, because at Foot Locker a stuck ASN starts costing money the hour the truck leaves.

Foot Locker EDI FAQ

Foot Locker EDI questions, answered

The one hour ASN, the July 2026 chargebacks, the SPS catalog, divisions, routing, WSS, and who owns Foot Locker now.

AIMS360. It is a consumer brands ERP with Foot Locker EDI built in: the 850 in, filed to the right account by division, the 860 change report, the 856 built from the closed shipment so it can go before the truck leaves, one 810 per PO, the 870 order status, the 820 remittance report, and hourly checks for missing 997s, with GS1-128 carton labels from the same record and your UPCs exported as an 832 catalog file. Our own EDI team runs the connection.

Foot Locker's vendor manual says it sends the 816 store listing, 820 remittance, 850 purchase order, 860 PO change and 997, and receives the 810 invoice, 856 ASN, 870 order status and 997. It uses no 753 or 754; routing runs through its Routing Tool. Some EDI providers also list the 855, but Foot Locker's own list does not include it.

For DC shipments, within 1 hour after the shipment closes and leaves your facility, and it has to be in Foot Locker's system while the freight is in transit. Sending it before pickup is fine. Direct to store ASNs are due by 8:00 PM Eastern the day after the ship date. A missing, incorrect or late EDI ASN costs $7.50 per carton with a $500 minimum, and unloading delays caused by an ASN problem add $250 an hour.

Foot Locker publishes its schedule in Section 9 of its vendor manual, last revised July 2026. Examples: late shipments at 5, 10 or 15 percent of PO cost depending on days late (the older routing section still quotes 1 percent a day, so confirm with your buyer), ASN problems at $7.50 per carton with a $500 minimum, a missing or unscannable carton label at $7.50 per carton plus $250, unauthorized pallets at $250 each, and a routing request not forwarded 72 hours before shipping at $300. It will not research receipts more than 6 months old.

Not for EDI, as far as the manual shows. Foot Locker's US manual names no network for orders, ASNs and invoices. It does read vendor UPCs from the SPS Commerce catalog, and vendors must make their UPCs available there. AIMS360 connects to Foot Locker directly or through the VAN you already use, and exports your UPCs as an 832 catalog file.

Through Foot Locker's Routing Tool, a web system, instead of the 753 and 754. You request routing at least three days before the goods are available, and a request not forwarded 72 hours before shipping is charged $300. Collect freight bills third party to Foot Locker, and prepaid deliveries book an appointment at least 48 hours ahead.

No. Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker and Champs Sports are divisions 03, 16 and 18 of one Foot Locker trading partner, and Foot Locker Canada and Champs Sports Canada are 76 and 77. They share one manual and one EDI team. AIMS360 reads the division on each 850 and files the order to the matching account.

No. WSS trades as its own company, Eurostar, Inc., with its own vendor compliance guide effective July 6, 2026, its own DC in El Monte, California, and net 60 terms. It is set up on its own, and Foot Locker Europe is separate too, so our EDI team confirms the IDs before your first order.

Cartons weigh 3 to 45 pounds and measure 12 to 30 inches long, 12 to 20 wide and 7 to 15 high. Footwear ships one SKU and size per master carton. The GS1-128 label goes on the bottom right of the long side, about 1 inch from the bottom and the edge, printed to ANSI grade A or B.

By 8:00 PM Eastern the day after shipping, on the EDI 810. One PO per invoice, one invoice number per ship-to destination, and no freight or restocking fees. A late invoice or one that fails edits costs $100 or 30 percent, whichever is less.

Not an open one for vendors in North America, as far as the vendor manual and public sources show. The drop ship deals on record were with specific partners, such as a Nike pilot in 2021 and Fanatics for licensed fan gear in 2022. Foot Locker Europe signed a four-year drop ship agreement with CommerceHub, now Rithum, in 2021; whether it still runs is not public.

On footlocker-inc.com, under Vendor Standards Manual, with no login. The US and Canada manual has 15 sections plus forms and a French edition, most of them revised between April 2025 and September 2026. The Europe and Asia Pacific manuals are separate and dated 2022.

DICK'S Sporting Goods, since September 8, 2025. Foot Locker runs as a business unit led by DICK'S executive chairman Ed Stack, with Ann Freeman as president of Foot Locker North America, per DICK'S March 2026 annual report. It had 2,478 stores across its banners worldwide on August 1, 2026, including 266 licensed stores.

We do. The maps belong to us, so a revision is our work rather than a project for your team. Foot Locker rewrote its chargeback section in July 2026 and its required documentation section in April 2026, so we check the manual with you before every season.
