Mercado Libre orders reach AIMS360 through Shopify, draw on the same style, color and size inventory as wholesale, and post to their own customer account.

Selling on Mercado Libre: orders in AIMS360 through Shopify, on their own customer account

Mercado Libre describes itself as the largest ecommerce and fintech ecosystem in Latin America, and US brands can sell on it through Global Selling without a company there. With AIMS360, Mercado Libre orders come in through your Shopify store, draw on the same style, color and size inventory as your wholesale and web orders, and land on a Mercado Libre customer account, so the sales, payouts and fees stay out of your web store numbers.

Does AIMS360 integrate with Mercado Libre? Yes, through Shopify. AIMS360 does not connect to Mercado Libre directly. A Mercado Libre connector app from the Shopify App Store that creates Mercado Libre orders in Shopify does the first leg. The AIMS360 Shopify integration imports those orders, and a tag on each one puts it on a Mercado Libre customer account, so Mercado Libre sales, payouts and fees are booked apart from your web store while selling from the same inventory as every other channel.

How It Works

How a Mercado Libre order reaches AIMS360, in four hops

Two connections do the work. A connector app links Mercado Libre to Shopify. The AIMS360 Shopify integration links Shopify to AIMS360.

Hop 1 · Listing

AIMS360 to Shopify to Mercado Libre

The style is built once in AIMS360 and sent to Shopify with its colors and sizes. Your Mercado Libre connector app links the Shopify products you choose to their Mercado Libre listings, and Mercado Libre treats each size and color as its own product.

Hop 2 · Order

Mercado Libre to Shopify to AIMS360

A shopper buys on Mercado Libre. The connector app you choose has to create that order in Shopify with your style, color and size SKUs on it. AIMS360 then imports it like any other Shopify order, through the Shopify integration.

Hop 3 · Booking

Tagged to its own customer account

A Mercado Libre tag on the order matches the customer mapping in AIMS360, so the order lands on your Mercado Libre customer account instead of your web store account. The order source still reads Shopify.

Hop 4 · Ship and close

Allocated, packed, confirmed

AIMS360 allocates the units and prints the pick ticket for your warehouse or 3PL. Mercado Libre generates the shipping label for its own shipping service, and the ship confirmation closes the order in AIMS360 and Shopify, with the lower stock count flowing back out. Full orders are the exception: Mercado Libre ships those from its own warehouse.

Shopify's own Marketplace Connect app covers Amazon, Walmart, Target Plus and eBay. It does not cover Mercado Libre, so the bridge is a Mercado Libre connector app from the Shopify App Store. Any app works with AIMS360 if it creates the Mercado Libre order in Shopify with your SKUs on it, so check that before you choose one.

Separate Accounting

Mercado Libre on its own customer account, so its numbers stay separate

By default every order from your Shopify store imports to one customer account in AIMS360. A tag changes that for Mercado Libre.

What Where it lands in AIMS360
Orders and invoices On the Mercado Libre customer account, matched by the tag in the Shopify customer mapping. Sales by customer show Mercado Libre on its own line, apart from your web store.
Receivables Mercado Libre owes you the payout, so the open balance sits on the Mercado Libre account in accounts receivable instead of mixing with card payments from your web store.
Payouts Mercado Libre pays out net of its fees: by USD wire every two weeks on Global Selling, or on the local site's payout terms. Apply each payout against the Mercado Libre account's invoices.
Fees Book the fees on each payout as one A/R adjustment credit with its own credit code, instead of a fee on every order. The credit code tells your accountant where the fees go in the chart of accounts.
Your books If you run QuickBooks, the Mercado Libre customer, its invoices and its payments sync over too, so the channel arrives in the books already separated.
Order source Still reads Shopify. The customer account is what tells a Mercado Libre order apart from a web store order.
Without the tag, Mercado Libre orders import to the same customer account as your web store, and the only place to split them out is Shopify's own sales channel report. Set the mapping up before the first order, not after the first month.

Ownership

Which system owns what on a Mercado Libre order

Many marketplace headaches come from two systems both thinking they own the same number. Settle it before the first order.

What Owned by Why it matters
Style, color and size master AIMS360 Build the item once. Shopify and Mercado Libre inherit it, so a size added in AIMS360 is not retyped on a marketplace form.
Sellable quantity AIMS360, through the Shopify inventory template The template decides which warehouses count and can hold back a safety buffer or publish a percentage. Mercado Libre can only sell what Shopify is shown.
Listing, price, category and size chart The connector app and Mercado Libre Mercado Libre's rules for titles, size charts, barcodes and prices live with Mercado Libre. The app carries the product data over from Shopify.
Order capture Mercado Libre, then Shopify The connector app creates the order in Shopify, and AIMS360 imports it with the shopper's ship-to. Confirm the app does this before you choose it.
Customer account and accounting AIMS360 The tag mapping puts the order on the Mercado Libre account, where the invoice, payout and fee credit live.
Allocation, pick and pack AIMS360 The same allocation rules that protect your wholesale orders decide whether the Mercado Libre order ships from stock.
Shipping label Mercado Libre Mercado Libre's shipping service generates the label. Under Full, Mercado Libre packs and ships from its own warehouse.
Fees and payout Mercado Libre Commission and settlement are between you and Mercado Libre. AIMS360 records the result on the Mercado Libre account.

Marketplace oversells usually start the same way: the marketplace reads stock on hand while wholesale orders have already claimed part of it. In AIMS360 the number Shopify shows, and so the number Mercado Libre shows, comes from the inventory template for that Shopify location: which warehouses count, a safety buffer, a percentage of stock, and allocated orders taken off first. When stock is short, Intelligent Allocation carries out the priority rule you choose between a retailer and a marketplace.

Global Selling

Selling from the US with Mercado Libre Global Selling

A US brand does not need a company in Latin America. Here is what Mercado Libre publishes about the cross-border program.

Topic What Mercado Libre publishes
Who can join Global Selling is Mercado Libre's program for sellers based in the US, China or Hong Kong, run from one account. Third party guides report that sign-up asks for a registered business, an EIN and a W-8 form, so confirm the current list when you apply.
Countries Global Selling's pricing and shipping pages list Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Argentina. One older Mercado Libre page says four marketplaces, so confirm which sites your account can list on.
Listings Written in English and priced in US dollars. Mercado Libre translates the listing into the local language and currency, and one listing can publish to several marketplaces with a separate price on each.
Fees Listing is free. A selling fee set by category is charged when an order is placed. Mexico, Argentina and Chile have a USD 15 minimum listing price, some low priced items carry an extra fee per unit, and the seller pays part of the shipping, less with a better reputation.
Shipping Ship direct to the consumer on a label Mercado Libre generates, handing the package to the assigned carrier within three business days. Or send stock to Full, Mercado Libre's fulfillment service, which Global Selling offers in Mexico and Chile. Mercado Libre's team also described a US fulfillment center in Texas for cross-border stock in a 2025 Trade.gov webinar.
Payouts An international wire in US dollars, net of fees, every two weeks, to a bank account or Payoneer. The minimum transfer is USD 500, and smaller balances roll into the next cycle.
Returns Set a local return address in each marketplace, or send an international return label at your cost within 48 hours. Mercado Libre allows full refunds only.
Customs The seller is responsible for the destination country's import and labeling rules, and goods held at customs are not returned to the US.

Brands with a company in Latin America sell on the local Mercado Libre site instead, ship with Mercado Envios or Full, and are paid out on that site's terms. The AIMS360 side is the same: the order comes through Shopify and lands on the Mercado Libre account. In Mexico, platforms withhold income tax and VAT from seller payouts, as reported by Mexican tax publications, so a deposit can be net of more than fees. Ask your accountant how to book the withholding.

Apparel on Mercado Libre

Size charts, barcodes and variations: what apparel listings need

01

Size charts are required

For some fashion categories Mercado Libre requires a size chart on the listing, and listings missing the size chart attributes are moderated and paused. Tops and bottoms take a chart you build. On Global Selling, footwear uses the US size as the main size, with local sizes alongside. Your size scales already live in the AIMS360 size matrix.

02

Each size and color is its own product

Under Mercado Libre's User Products model, every size and color variation is a separate product that can carry its own price and stock, grouped under one family. That maps one to one to the style, color and size SKUs AIMS360 sends to Shopify.

03

Barcodes on every variation

Mercado Libre requires a GTIN in some categories and accepts a stated reason for none in others. On Global Selling it is required for new items. AIMS360 keeps the UPC on every size, so each variation's code is ready when the listing asks for it.

04

Price floors hit basics first

Mexico, Argentina and Chile set a USD 15 minimum listing price on Global Selling, and some markets add a per unit fee on low priced items. Socks, basics and small accessories may not clear the floor on their own.

05

Read the translation

Global Selling translates English listings into Spanish and Portuguese automatically. Fit and fabric terms can come out wrong in a machine translation, so read the result on your best sellers before you scale the assortment.

06

Beauty has extra limits

Mercado Libre restricts cosmetics and personal care on Global Selling, and perfume shipped from its US warehouse has size and weight limits. Beauty brands should check the restricted products list before listing.

Reputation and Shipping

Ship on time and almost never cancel: Mercado Libre's reputation rules

Mercado Libre scores sellers on claims, cancellations and late handling over the last 60 days, or the last 365 when there are too few sales. The score moves search ranking and shipping discounts.

Mexico and Argentina Líder Green Red above
Claims 1% 1.5% 6%
Cancellations 0.5% 1% 3%
Late handling 8% 10% 22%

Líder is the MercadoLíder level. Source: Mercado Libre developer documentation, seller reputation, read October 9, 2026. Brazil, Chile and Colombia use different thresholds.

What it means

Cancellations are inventory problems

A seller cancellation counts against you whether or not the shopper complains, and oversells are a common cause of them. Fix them in the inventory template and in Intelligent Allocation, not at the packing table.

What it means

Handling time starts at the order

Aim to import, allocate and print the pick ticket the same day the order arrives. Global Selling asks for the package to reach the carrier within three business days, and dispatching within 72 hours of the order keeps it off your reputation.

Full

Stock at Mercado Libre is its own warehouse

Under Full, Mercado Libre stores, packs and ships. Keep the units you send to Full in their own AIMS360 warehouse with multi-warehouse inventory, so they never count as shippable from your own dock. How Full orders show up in Shopify depends on the connector app, so confirm it before you send stock.

Your 3PL

A 3PL can ship it

A Mercado Libre order is an ordinary order once it is in AIMS360, so it can route to a 3PL connected by EDI or API. Your 3PL also needs the Mercado Libre label from your seller account or the connector app, so set up that handoff first. The warehouse's ship confirmation closes the order in AIMS360 and Shopify.

Setup

Setting up Mercado Libre with AIMS360, in order

Six steps. The first is the only AIMS360 project, and if you already run Shopify on AIMS360 it is done.

Step 1

Connect Shopify to AIMS360

If Shopify is not connected yet, this comes first. Styles go to Shopify with colors and sizes already built, and inventory starts syncing by warehouse. If you already run Shopify on AIMS360, it is done.

Step 2

Open the Mercado Libre account

From the US, apply to Global Selling. With a company in Mexico, Brazil or another Mercado Libre country, open a seller account on the local site.

Step 3

Install a connector app and test it

Choose a Mercado Libre app from the Shopify App Store. Confirm that it creates Mercado Libre orders in Shopify with your SKUs on them, and that it supports your account type, Global Selling or a local site. Those are what the AIMS360 import depends on.

Step 4

Create the account and map the tag

Create a Mercado Libre customer account in AIMS360, then add its tag in the Shopify customer mapping. If the app does not tag its orders, ask the app's developer how to add one before the first order.

Step 5

Set what Mercado Libre can see

In the inventory template, choose which warehouses count toward the Shopify location the app reads, and add a buffer or a percentage so Mercado Libre never sees units promised to wholesale.

Step 6

Run a test order to the payout

Follow a test order into Shopify, onto the Mercado Libre account in AIMS360, out the door, and through to the payout and the fee credit. A channel that takes orders but cannot close the books is not connected yet.

This is not a direct AIMS360 to Mercado Libre connection. It runs through Shopify and a connector app that its developer maintains. Mercado Libre sets the fees, rules and thresholds, and they change, so confirm them in your seller account.

Mercado Libre FAQ

Mercado Libre integration questions, answered

How Mercado Libre connects, how the accounting stays separate, what Global Selling asks of a US brand, and how to protect your reputation.

Yes, through Shopify. AIMS360 does not connect to Mercado Libre directly. Connect a Mercado Libre app from the Shopify App Store that creates Mercado Libre orders in Shopify, and the AIMS360 Shopify integration imports those orders. A tag on each order puts it on a Mercado Libre customer account in AIMS360, so Mercado Libre sales, payouts and fees are booked apart from your web store.

It runs on AIMS360's native Shopify integration. A connector app from another developer links Shopify to Mercado Libre, so AIMS360 maintains the Shopify side and the app's developer maintains the app. See DTC and retail integrations for every consumer channel and how each one connects.

No. As of October 2026, Shopify lists Amazon, Walmart, Target Plus and eBay for Marketplace Connect, and not Mercado Libre. Mercado Libre connector apps from other developers are on the Shopify App Store. Pick one that creates Mercado Libre orders in Shopify with your SKUs on them, because that is what the AIMS360 Shopify integration imports.

A shopper buys on Mercado Libre, the connector app creates the order in Shopify, and AIMS360 imports it like any other Shopify order, with the ship-to. The Mercado Libre tag routes it to the Mercado Libre customer account. From there it is a normal AIMS360 order in order management: allocated, picked, shipped and confirmed, except Full orders, which Mercado Libre ships from its own warehouse.

With its own customer account. You create a Mercado Libre customer in AIMS360 and map the order tag to it in the Shopify customer mapping. Orders, invoices, receivables and payments then sit on that account, apart from your web store. The order source still reads Shopify. Without the tag, Mercado Libre orders import to the web store account. See AIMS360 accounting.

Mercado Libre takes its fees out before it pays you. Import the orders at full price, apply the payout against the Mercado Libre account's invoices, and book the fees on each payout as one A/R adjustment credit with its own credit code. The code tells your accountant where the fees go in the chart of accounts. See accounts receivable.

AIMS360 updates Shopify's stock by warehouse through the inventory template, and the connector app passes the Shopify quantity to Mercado Libre. The template decides which warehouses count and can hold back a buffer or publish a percentage, so Mercado Libre does not see units promised to wholesale. See multi-warehouse inventory.

Yes, through Global Selling, Mercado Libre's program for sellers based in the US, China or Hong Kong. You list in English and US dollars, and Mercado Libre translates the listing for each market. With AIMS360 those orders come in through Shopify like any other channel. See the Shopify integration.

Global Selling's pricing and shipping pages list Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Argentina, as of October 2026. One older Mercado Libre page says four marketplaces, so confirm in your account. Full fulfillment is open to Global Selling sellers in Mexico and Chile. Orders to the other countries ship direct to the consumer on a Mercado Libre label, from your warehouse or a 3PL connected by EDI or API.

By international wire in US dollars, net of fees, every two weeks, to a bank account or Payoneer. The minimum transfer is USD 500, and smaller balances roll into the next cycle. In AIMS360 you apply each payout to the Mercado Libre account and book the fees as one credit, in accounts receivable.

For some fashion categories, yes. Mercado Libre's developer documentation says listings missing the size chart attributes are moderated and paused. Tops and bottoms take a chart you build, and on Global Selling footwear uses the US size as the main size with local sizes alongside. Keep your size scales in the AIMS360 size matrix so the sizes match across channels.

Either you or Mercado Libre. Shipping direct to the consumer, you pack the order and hand it to the carrier on a label Mercado Libre generates, within three business days on Global Selling. Under Full, Mercado Libre stores your stock and ships it, in Mexico and Chile for Global Selling sellers. Keep Full stock in its own AIMS360 warehouse with multi-warehouse inventory.

Cancellations count against your seller reputation, which drives search ranking and shipping discounts. In Mexico and Argentina, a cancellation rate above 3 percent puts a seller in the red. Oversells are a common cause of seller cancellations, so the fix starts with the inventory template and Intelligent Allocation.

Yes. Once a Mercado Libre order is in AIMS360 it is an ordinary order, so it routes to whichever location should ship it, including a 3PL connected by EDI or API. The warehouse's ship confirmation closes the order in AIMS360 and Shopify.

MercadoLibre, Inc. (Nasdaq: MELI) operates in 18 Latin American countries, with businesses that include the Mercado Libre marketplace, Mercado Pago, Mercado Envios and Mercado Ads. It was founded in 1999 by Marcos Galperin and is based in Montevideo, Uruguay. In the second quarter of 2026 it reported 89 million unique active buyers. AIMS360 is not affiliated with Mercado Libre.
