You need one system that keeps your stock and books in pounds and still invoices a US department store in dollars and a Paris stockist in euros, with Shopify, wholesale platforms, a US 3PL and US retailer EDI all feeding it. Here's how that works in AIMS360, where UK VAT fits, and what changed for DTC parcels into the US.
One ERP with order management built in, run in pounds, with every channel committing stock from the same record. In AIMS360 a UK company keeps GBP as its home currency and invoices US accounts in USD and European accounts in EUR, with exchange rates retrieved daily or fixed by you. Shopify stores in GBP, EUR and USD, JOOR and NuORDER wholesale, marketplaces such as Farfetch, and US retailer purchase orders over EDI all land in one order book. Your UK warehouse and a US 3PL are locations on one stock record, so available to sell is one number, not three.
Many UK brands start by searching for an OMS, because orders are where the strain shows first. But a brand selling wholesale also needs what sits behind the order: size-level stock, allocation against retailer POs, receivables in two or three currencies, and a ledger that closes in pounds. That's an ERP. AIMS360 is a consumer brands ERP with omnichannel order management built in, run by apparel, footwear, accessories, beauty and other consumer product brands.
| Sale | Currency | Tax on the order | How AIMS360 handles it |
|---|---|---|---|
| UK stockists | GBP | UK VAT from your tax sheet | Home currency accounts, ordering through JOOR, NuORDER, your portal or reps |
| UK Shopify store | GBP | As Shopify calculated it | Imports with Shopify's taxes, draws from your UK warehouse |
| EU stockists | EUR | As your accountant sets it on the tax sheet | EUR accounts and EUR prices per style, with AR in euros and pounds |
| EU Shopify store | EUR | As Shopify calculated it | Its own store connection in euros, on the same stock record |
| US department stores | USD | As your accountant sets it on the tax sheet | USD accounts, POs in by EDI, ASN, GS1-128 labels and invoice out |
| US Shopify store | USD | As Shopify calculated it | Its own store in dollars, shipped from a US 3PL if you hold stock there |
Multi-currency in AIMS360 has been live since 2020 and works on the selling side: you price, book, invoice and collect in currencies other than pounds, while costs, report totals and ledger postings stay in GBP.
Every setting is on the multi-currency and divisions page, and the international and multi-currency hub shows the same mechanics for a Canadian brand in CAD and an Australian or New Zealand brand in its own dollar.
Through tax sheets. A default tax sheet holds your rates by region and can be edited, and custom tax sheets override it for specific styles or colors. Tax is applied to merchandise less discounts, plus freight, plus service items such as handling or gift wrap. Tax sheets work for any country, so UK VAT on an invoice to a UK stockist is set up the same way a Canadian brand sets up GST.
You set and confirm the rates, and AIMS360 applies them. The GOV.UK guide to how much VAT you must charge explains that the rate depends on the goods and lists children's clothes and shoes among zero-rated items, the kind of exception a custom tax sheet covers for a kidswear line.
Exports to US accounts are a separate question. HMRC's VAT Notice 703 sets the conditions for zero-rating exported goods, including evidence of export kept on file. Your accountant confirms the treatment, and the tax sheet on those accounts applies it.
Orders from Shopify and other integrated or imported channels keep the taxes calculated in those systems.
A US department store runs the same rulebook for a London label as for a New York one: trade by EDI, follow the routing guide, label every carton.
| Requirement | What the retailer expects | In AIMS360 |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase order (850) | Style, color, size, quantities, ship window and destination, sent by EDI | A USD order on the retailer's USD account. See EDI 850 |
| Advance ship notice (856) | Sent when goods ship, matching each carton | Built from the shipment. See EDI 856 ASN |
| GS1-128 carton labels | A compliant label on every carton, tied to the ASN | Printed from the cartons as packed. See GS1-128 labels |
| Invoice (810) | Sent by EDI, matching the PO and the shipment | Generated from the shipment, in dollars |
| Routing guide | How, when and with which carrier goods ship, plus packing rules | Your team or 3PL follows it; labels, ASN and carton data come from AIMS360 |
| Chargebacks | Deductions when a rule is missed | Logged against the original order. See chargeback management |
EDI is built into AIMS360 for 350+ retailers, including US department stores such as Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's and Neiman Marcus. It's a flat monthly fee per retailer with unlimited transactions, with no kilocharacter, per-document or VAN fees, and AIMS360 has dedicated apparel EDI specialists on staff.
If US wholesale ships from a US 3PL, the warehouse returns a 945 shipment confirmation and AIMS360 builds the 856, the labels and the 810 from it. Start with EDI retailers or how EDI works in AIMS360.
Until August 29, 2025, a parcel valued at $800 or less could enter the US duty-free under the de minimis rule. The US suspended that treatment for goods from all countries from that date, as CBP's guidance (CSMS #66065494) sets out, and UKFT flagged it for UK fashion exporters. A parcel to a US customer no longer enters duty-free under de minimis, whatever its value.
Some brands keep shipping from the UK and build duty into US pricing. Others hold stock at a US 3PL and ship US orders domestically. Duty, origin paperwork and customs entries are for your customs broker. AIMS360 runs either model on one stock record.
Each brand can run several Shopify stores, each in its own currency, all feeding one AIMS360 company. Every Shopify location maps to an AIMS360 warehouse, and each store shares the main stock pool or draws from its own warehouse. One common shape:
| Channel | Currency | Ships from, in this example |
|---|---|---|
| UK Shopify store | GBP | Your UK warehouse |
| EU Shopify store | EUR | Your UK warehouse, or another location you add later |
| US Shopify store | USD | The US 3PL |
| US retailer POs | USD | The US 3PL, with retailer commitments held in their own virtual warehouse |
Holding retailer commitments apart means the US store only sees what's left. The 3PL connects by EDI or API; more than 30 warehouses have a prebuilt connection, built in house and maintained by AIMS360. See 3PL integrations, the 3PL fulfillment guide and the Shopify integration.
Whichever platform a buyer uses, the order commits stock from one record. That's the core job of fashion ERP software once a brand sells through more than a couple of channels. The wholesale B2B platforms guide compares the platforms themselves.
AIMS360 runs orders, stock, invoices and receivables; your accounting system keeps the ledger your accountant works in. Xero and QuickBooks Online, Desktop and Enterprise sync two ways, and Sage Intacct, Sage 100 and NetSuite connect too.

If you're comparing apparel ERP options, start here:
One that owns stock and orders across every channel and runs the company in pounds while invoicing US accounts in dollars. In AIMS360, Shopify stores, wholesale platforms, marketplaces and US retailer EDI feed one order book, and a UK warehouse and a US 3PL sit on one stock record.
Yes. The home currency is GBP and each US account carries USD. The order carries the day's exchange rate, retrieved daily or fixed by you, and the invoice inherits it. Payment is taken in USD at the invoice rate by default, and customer AR shows the balance in dollars and pounds.
On wholesale invoices, through tax sheets: a default sheet holds your rates by region, and custom sheets override it for specific styles or colors, such as a kidswear line. Orders from Shopify and other integrated channels keep the taxes those systems calculated. You set and confirm the rates with your accountant.
Yes. EDI is built into AIMS360 for 350+ retailers, US department stores among them: purchase orders come in, and ASNs, GS1-128 carton labels and invoices go out. It's a flat monthly fee per retailer with unlimited transactions, backed by dedicated apparel EDI specialists.

The US suspended duty-free de minimis treatment for goods from all countries from August 29, 2025, so a parcel to a US customer no longer enters duty-free under that rule. Some brands keep shipping from the UK, others hold stock at a US 3PL. Your customs broker advises on duty; AIMS360 runs either model on one stock record.

Yes. Each brand can run more than one Shopify store, each in its own currency, all feeding the same AIMS360 company. Every Shopify location maps to its own AIMS360 warehouse, and each store can share the main stock pool or draw from its own warehouse.
See the Shopify integration page.
Yes. Xero is a direct two-way sync with the same object mapping as QuickBooks, covering invoices, payments, credit memos, customers, vendor bills, commissions, COGS and inventory adjustments. QuickBooks Online, Desktop and Enterprise also sync two ways.
JOOR receives your active currencies automatically, and its orders import in the right currency. For NuORDER, you turn on your selling currencies in the NuORDER tab inside AIMS360. Brandboom has a multi-currency setup too.
